Box Making by Flatbed Blade Cutting Machine with Creasing and Cutting Double Cutting Tools

In our previous video, we demonstrated how to create a simple box using a laser cabinet and a UV hybrid printer. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to our latest equipment: the Flatbed Blade Cutting Machine with Creasing and Cutting Double Cutting Tools. This machine is designed to streamline box production, especially in mass quantities. Let’s dive into how it works.

Setting Up the Design

We begin by importing the box design into the program. For clarity, the design uses two colours: red and blue. The red lines represent where the box will be cut, and the blue lines indicate where the box will be creased to ensure proper folding.
After ensuring that the design elements are ungrouped, we select the box outline and proceed to assign the cutting tool. The process involves selecting the cutting blade from the toolbar and making sure that the correct cutting driver is attached. Next, we assign tools by colour—starting with the red outline for cutting.

Configuring the Cutting and Creasing Tools

For the red outline, we use a 45° blade. Several options such as embossing, folding, creasing, and scoring are available, but since we’re cutting, we stick with the drag knife setting. After assigning the cutting blade to tool number one, we apply the settings.

Next, we move on to the blue creasing lines. Although the cutting blade offset is also 45°, once we switch to the fold crease tool, the correct settings are automatically applied. This tool is placed in tool number two, and the configuration is complete.

Preparing to Cut

Before cutting, it’s crucial to perform a pressure test on the machine to ensure the cutting settings are optimal. Once the test is satisfactory, we set the force and speed for both blades (cutting and creasing), which can be adjusted independently. After finalizing these details, we move the cutting head to the starting position and initiate the process.

Mass Production with a UV Hybrid Printer

This demonstration focused on creating a simple box, but for larger-scale production, especially printed boxes, a UV hybrid printer is essential. With the UV printer, you can print multiple flat sheets of cardboard at once. These sheets are then fed into the double-head cutter, where they are cut and creased efficiently, significantly reducing production time.

The great news for our clients is that we offer a wide range of free templates, like the one used in this video, available for download at CNCCToday.

Conclusion

If you’re producing only a few boxes, a cabinet laser is an excellent choice. However, for mass production, the Flatbed Blade Cutting Machine with Creasing and Cutting Double Cutting Tools is the ideal machine. We hope this tutorial has provided insight into the process, and we look forward to seeing you in our next video.
